The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho and Snake River Landing teamed up to present the first annual “The River Rocks” plein-air competition and festival held on June 19 - 21.
Over 60 artists from around the country competed in the plein-air art contest Thursday through Saturday and over 2,000 people strolled the landscaped walkways of Snake River Landing to view over 100 paintings and drawings that were displayed as part of the competition.
Sculptors and metal artists were also on-hand to provide opportunities for the community to see art created first-hand.
The winners of the competition were announced at The River Rocks Party, a ticketed dinner attended by almost 300 community members. First place was awarded to Josh Clare, second place to Marina Zavalova-Hudson and third place to Sally Ellis.
