Salvation Army Christmas Center to be at SRL

Snake River Landing and The Salvation Army are pleased to announce that
The Salvation Army Christmas Center will once again be located at Snake River Landing.

Volunteers and The Salvation Army staff will use the space to prepare Christmas baskets for those community members facing difficult times in the upcoming holiday season.
The Salvation Army located their Christmas Center in 2007 at Snake River Landing after their
former space put their staff, volunteers and clients in danger. “Last year, we had a natural gas leak occur in our Christmas Center space on our distribution day. This put hundreds of staff, volunteers and clients at risk. We contacted Snake River Landing and they generously offered to provide us immediately with a safe environment. We were so grateful to be given this premium space filled with ”luxuries” that hadn’t been available in the past - heat, lights, rest rooms and more,” said Lisa Wilkins, a representative from The Salvation Army.

“In the last year we have seen a dramatic increase in the number of clients needing assistance and in the number of new clients asking for help. We expect this trend to continue into the Christmas season. We are preparing to distribute Christmas Baskets to approximately 500 families this year. Without the good works of Snake River Landing, we would not be able to complete such a task. By allowing us to use their beautiful building for our Christmas Programs, they are making a tremendous difference in the lives of families in our community,” continued Wilkins.

The continued donation of space to The Salvation Army was an easy decision for Snake
River Landing. “We believe that the good works of The Salvation Army significantly impact many families in our community and are humbled to be in a position to assist them this holiday season. The local staff and volunteers have a passion for serving the community and we are excited to be a part of the great things that they are accomplishing,” said Eric Isom, Chief Development Officer of Snake River Landing.
